Delapan Kasih, Delapan Kisah, Bahagian Ketujuh

And coming back to the original form of the meme....

Eight new things I would love to try out or do at least once

Watching the aurorae, either in the far north or south. Some people say if you are completely silent, you can hear them as well as see them. That would really be something.

The Hermitage Museum at St. Petersburg. Once upon a time, the winter palace of the Tsars. Now it is an art museum within the four walls of a truly spectacular building. The sense of history, the sense of occasion, must be almost overwhelming.

Write The Great Malaysian Novel. Wouldn’t that be fun? The story could be about food and food and… food….

Crater Lake National Park in Oregon is supposed to be wonderfully relaxing. I hear the views are stunning and that the photos are only a pale imitation. Swimming in the summer, playing in the snow in wintertime.

A beach holiday in The Maldives, or more realistically, Sipadan. A friend once told me that the diving off Sipadan is excellent. I nodded of course: I don’t know how to scuba-dive.

Cruise the fjords in New Zealand. I would really like to see a fjord, especially how fog, water and fjord come together. I have seen it on film, I want to see it for real.

Swimming with dolphins. The dolphins will eventually figure us people out and run away from the biggest polluters on earth. Before that happens, I want some quality time with a porpoise. Porpoise, geddit? Geddit?

I would like to be an anime or manga character. Not cosplay. I mean actually made into an anime character, with my own series. My life already reads like the script of a K-drama or the fifty-episodes-plus serials so beloved of Hong Kong. Why not draw and animate it all? Might even save me the embarrassment of seeing who is going to be cast to play me….

Porpoise?
An anime version of The Blog(u) would be nice, especially the part where the plink is captured in the palace. Or where the plink takes a drive with the Third Gear.

Where is that chapter anyway? The link doesnt work. I've a sudden urge to read about screeching tyres and howling V-12 engines...

Purpose, porpoise.... ;)

Habislar, plink in the car. If anime people wanted to do that, what would they call it? Initial p?

Oops, sorry about the bad link, but fixed now!

I'll support your writing the Great Malaysian Novel! hmmm... pass you some recipes, yes? :D

*throws sotong back at Plinku, watch it go down front of blouse, get stuck and legs waving out* muaahahahahaa

I heard Aurora's sometimes make noises; an individual's account of it on Reader's Digest (not the best place to get facts) compared it to the tinkling of tiny bells.

*intently watches the sotong scenario unfold*
*bursts out laughing*

At 3:11 pm, Blogger plink said...

may: I would write it, if only I knew where to start.... 'Once upon a time, in a kitchen not so far away....'

*goes paddling in the sea at the Maldives*

*keeps watch out for 'exposure'.*

FF: Hoii!! *ROTFlegs waving out also* You wait, just wait.... ;)

LC: You want a good sotonging as well? *puts sotong in LC's shirt*

Is that ink or are you just happy to see me?

Waitwaitwait! So, DO aurorae make sounds or NOT?

*very confused now*

swimming with dolphin?
ever think of riding on the dolphin? :P
Sounds more interesting..
more chi kek too ..

At 10:07 pm, Blogger fantasyflier said...

technically speaking, ahem, the aurora is the by product of the earth's magnetic field interaction with the sun so how to have noise?

*eyes sotong ROTFlegs waving out, bursts out LOL* :P

So you want to be played by a porpoise in an anime/manga. The title would be Plinkpoise Journal of coz, cuz dat is your name and you are a writer. You make the plinks in the ocean that must be heard.

You live in the Hermitage Museum which has moved to the bottom of Crater Lake. You are porpoise so have to have water hor. The light in this magic land is brovided by the aurorae. So you and your friends wear close that reflect light nicely.

Of course a story is not interesting if you always stay. So your series will take you to the New Zealand fjords and The Maldives. And you eat the best food on your journeys.

chen: O.O at chen riding dolphin....

*FF's explanation goes over plink mya head* Lu kong hammik/simmik?

*sits down with sotong to watch LC and FF decide*

O.O at SA

*plink and sotong A P P R A U S E!*

*then look suspiciously at SA*

Have you been at the TungKu stash again? o.O

Visiting the Hermitage Museum at Crater Lake would mean less work, but won't the Russians be upset? Or we C O U L D move Crater Lake out to St. Petersburg....

Me, a porpoise? Hmm... *starts to think....*

At 12:51 am, Blogger Lao Chen said...

Riding a dolphin? Eew... I don't like animal porn.

Ooh, squid ink! Just in time for some brush calligraphy.

*wring wring wring*

Excellent...
*taps opposing fingertips together ala Burns*

*writes the following in squid ink*

A brief seach showed that it is closer to an urban legend than a consistent phenomenon. Despite serious attempts, there are no recordings of the said sounds. Some say its a human sensory issue rather than real sound. The Eskimos have similar legends since long ago too.

At 11:03 am, Blogger fantasyflier said...

following up on Lao Chen briefest of searches, additional research has also shown that some aurora-like sounds might possibly originate from the tinkling of the numerous ankle bells tied to the sotong's legs.

At 1:57 pm, Blogger Winn said...

plinku tungku tungku..hope to read your greatest malaysian novels too!! haha. sounds like fun!

LC: Wringing is not how you get ink from a squid.... You have to ask nicely....

FF: Ringing sotongs or wringing sotongs? You also another one....
*imagines LC and FF trying various methods to get ink and aurora-music from sotongs*

winn: Eh, sounds like you got good idea for the Great Malaysian Novel. You go write la. When come out that time I sure buy wan! :)

Maybe the sotong could be Plinkpoise's rival. Even with 8 tentacles cannot type as a good a story or as fast as the nose of Plinkpoise can.

Porpoise has a tough nose Plinksan. Won't hurt you. ;)

Wring the ringing sotong!
Ring the wringed sotong!
Deep fried sotong rings and garlic-chilli sauce all round; my treat.

Seems like everyone's infected by some sort of sotong obsession. They make tasty soups.

At 4:06 am, Blogger plink said...

chen: Aiyak sorry! Dialup lag and itchy click-finger mya problem.... Oops...

SAm: Tough nose? For typing? Porpoise-ly?

LC: Oii! Don't scare my sotongla.... *cover sotong's eyes*

Sshhh... but they DO make tasty soups.... ;)

At 5:08 am, Blogger Simple American said...
