Conservation

In the midst of a busy week at work, I found time to make a garden bloom again. Calling water up from deep inside the ground, I quickly found the beginnings of a river swirling around my feet. The life-giving gift of water sprang from this little hill at the top of the garden.

And then the little hill was suddenly in the middle of parched scrubland. The little hill and its newfound bounty of water brought life to its arid surroundings. Within moments, what had almost been desert before became a lush meadow, a field of grass under a bright blue sky.

Why did I then wake up?
